When buying a gaming chair, you will initially be confronted with a staggering range of products. A fundamental question is the material used. The most common materials are fabric, leather and polyurethane or faux leather.
Faux leather has the advantage that it is easy to care for. In addition, imitation leather covers are usually more affordable than leather covers, but they do not make a less noble appearance. With increasing playing time, moisture builds up between the back and the backrest due to the lack of air circulation. This happens to every chair after a certain amount of time. Unfortunately, inferior artificial leather products tend to accelerate the build-up of sweat. However, if you rely on high-quality products, you will not have a problem with moisture even with artificial leather covers.
Fabric covers are breathable and satisfy with their pleasant base temperature. If the room is cold, leather products cool down quickly. With fabric, the temperature leaves a less noticeable effect on the surface. Unfortunately, abrasion is stronger than with leather and cleaning is more difficult due to the higher absorption of fluids or other stains. In terms of aesthetics, fabric covers are often no less beautiful than leather and faux leather products.
Leather is usually more expensive than the alternatives. In return, however, it also provides optimal breathability and a noble appearance. Genuine leather is very durable and absorbs liquid or sticky substances less intensively than the other two materials. In comparison with faux leather, it is more resistant to tearing. In principle, the only argument against leather is its price, which is slightly higher than that of fabric and imitation leather.
